Letter from the Recruitment Chair

Oh, hey there!

If you’re on this page, you’re probably thinking “should I go Greek?”.

First off let me just say, that’s not even question! YES!! Yes, you should go Greek, even if you have the slightest thought about it, DO IT! It will change your life. Who knows, it might just turn out to be one of the best things you ever experience in college. For me, Greek life was always a thought in the back of my mind, I knew I was interested; however, I was afraid to jump into something I wasn’t one hundred percent sure about. When I did, I have not regret it since then. Joining Tri Sigma has definitely changed my life.

As I started school at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, I was pretty quiet and kept to myself. I knew that I wanted to get involved in school, but I was hesitant especially coming to a place I am not familiar with i.e Oshkosh. However, when I officially got over the fact that nothing is going to change if I don’t take a chance, I went through recruitment. When I met Tri Sigma, I felt this connection. A connection that felt familiar. It made me felt at home like I belong. I wasn’t an outcast from outside. You know when you hang out with a group of six and you are the seventh person. Each person has a partner to talk to and you had no one. Yes, I know that feeling but I never felt this with these women. Every time I met with a sister of Tri Sigma, there was never a dull moment. There were always laughs and intriguing conversations. The bonds that I had with these women was undeniable. Joining Tri Sigma has definitely influenced me for the better and I know it will keep flourishing from there.

If I have not convinced you yet, sleep on it!! Come back and read this again. I promise you, going Greek will change your life. It will benefit you in so many ways. The bonds that you build will continue to flourish and are irreplaceable. The unconditional love and support these women gave is amazingly comforting because it shows that you are not alone. Not only did joining Tri Sigma gave me awesome sisters, but opportunities to be more involved on campus, chances to volunteer, leadership opportunities and another place to call home. Tri Sigma was my home away from home!
